😷 I don't know about you, but when I take care of most of my business, for the past 2 years or so, I have made use of calling, emailing, and even online chat with particular companies. Of course, because
I don't have the time to get in my car and drive miles on end to an office just to ask stupid questions about an account or to arrange issues on my accounts.
I thoroughly enjoy using online chat, and other means of communicating, for the time-saving aspect and I'm sure many reading this right now do also. But now especially, it not only saves time but is saving lives and flattening the curve of this coronavirus breaking out even more so than it is currently.
My husband works in a brick-and-mortar office... And I am baffled by the stories I hear at the end of the day of people coming in with the dumbest questions that they feel compelled to ask in person!
I know we are in uncharted waters here as far as the Coronavirus and our new, hopefully temporary, normal, but for pete's sake, use common sense!
•Did we lose the ability to use our cell phones because of coronavirus?
•Did we lose the ability to use a landline phone?
•Did we lose internet to send an email or do an online chat with a company?
Are we that important that we shower, get all gussied up to drive * miles* to an office to do our business, in person, breathin' , coughin', and spittin' all over a company's employees who are going in because they need to keep their income coming in but they also want to stay alive?!
What's my point?!
Use your common sense, use the technological instruments that we have at our fingertips like landline phones, cell phones, tablets, and computers.
😷 If you know a technically challenged person who does not know how to email, online chat, or pick up the phone and call, then please help them through the process. Encourage them to learn how to do things remotely.
If you don't think a company has a way to conduct business remotely, give them a call and tell them about your issue... Tell them you do not want to come in person and ask what can they do to accommodate you?
... Think outside the box so no one has to end up in one.
